What is ZOE ENERGY?
Modern facilities for the incineration and energy recovery of industrial waste
ZOE ENERGY is a project to build a facility for the incineration and energy recovery of industrial waste in Růžodol near Litvínov. The facility is designed to process waste that can no longer be recycled, including certain hazardous components. The project will include two processing lines with a total capacity of 50,000 tons of waste per year. The technology incorporates multi-stage flue gas cleaning, continuous emissions monitoring, and round-the-clock operational oversight. The process will also include utilizing part of the waste’s energy potential to generate electricity.

Safety and Control
The ZOE facility is designed in accordance with European BAT (Best Available Techniques) standards for modern facilities of this type. The technology will include automated emissions monitoring, continuous measurement of key substances, archiving of operational data, and round-the-clock monitoring of the technology. The facility will be equipped with a multi-stage flue gas cleaning system, and its operation will be subject to strict emission limits and regular inspections.

Why Růžodol?
A logical location for a waste management solution that already exists in the region

What does ZOE bring to the region?
The ZOE facility addresses the long-standing shortage of capacity for the final treatment of industrial and hazardous waste in the Ústí nad Labem region and the surrounding area. It provides a controlled solution for waste that is currently generated or stored in the Ústí nad Labem region. At the same time, it will make it possible to harness some of the waste’s energy potential to generate electricity and reduce the need for long-term storage or the transport of waste over long distances.
